Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year, which is likely to be our most memorable academic year ever. Between distance learning, and the craziness the pandemic has added to our lives, this year will be a wild ride. Let's all make a pledge to be flexible and understanding with our classmates, our teachers, and our families, as we are all facing obstacles and challenges never before seen.
This is my 13th year at CMI and 18th year as a teacher. Prior to working at CMI, I taught in San Bernardino, and in the Jurupa Unified School District. Before that, I served in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist, where I worked on various fighter and bomber aircraft. While in the Air Force, I was stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, and finished my enlistment at Edwards AFB in California.
Minus my time in the USAF, I have always lived in Riverside. This is where I grew up and where I met my wife and started a family. In my free time I enjoy fishing, boating, and traveling the world. I have even led 4 tours of close to 150 students total on tours all over Europe, with more trips planned in 2021 and 2022 for Japan, and England/Ireland/Scotland respectively.
I can't wait to see what memories are made this year, and I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you.
Please feel free to contact me anytime about classwork, grades, travel, or about my favorite football team, the Las Vegas Raiders :)
To a great year!
Mr. Brian Dirkswager
