My name is Kristy Wakeman and I am excited to have your student in my class this year. I have been teaching in the Perris Union High School District since 1998! I graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara and have a Master's in Education from Chapman University. I have taught all levels of English over the years, but have really settled in with sophomore English for the last 10 years. I am also an AVID teacher and love being a part of our incredible AVID program here at HHS. I  spent 5 years as an instructional ELA coach in the district as well.

I am also a busy "soccer mom" and usually have a stack of essays with me at most sports practices! I love to go camping with my family, reading, and hanging out at the beach. I understand the anxiety that this school year is causing, as I feel it myself and see it in my own kids. I know that it is not ideal to start the year with virtual learning, but I will work hard to provide my students with the best possible learning experience!  We will make it through this! 😀 #virtuallytogether
