I was born in Southern California, but spent ages 7-13 in Charlotte, NC. My family moved back to Southern California where I completed high school at the California Military Institute in 2009. I attended Tuskegee University, an HBCU in Tuskegee, AL which was a phenomenal experience. After completing my freshman year at Tuskegee, I returned to Southern California and completed my bachelor’s degree at California State University, San Bernardino and my master’s degree at the University of Redlands.
In my free time, I enjoy watching science fiction and horror movies, reading fantasy and self-improvement books, planning events, playing video games, going to the beach, fostering dogs, volunteering, and spending time with my family.
This is my 6th year as an educator at California Military Institute. I have taught English at grade levels six through ten and have enjoyed every minute of it! I LOVE my students and am here to teach, nurture, and motivate them, as well as support their successes within and beyond the classroom. My educational philosophy includes the belief that learning should always be relatable and engaging So, I incorporate students' interests and competitive formats in my classroom instruction since studies prove that engagement directly correlates with retention.
I look forward to working with my students and their families this year! <3
