Welcome to my webpage. My name is Phuong Phung. I have taught over twenty years at the college, high school, and elementary school levels. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Washington and a Juris Doctor from New York University. For fun, I also obtained a dance degree from Mt. San Jacinto College and performed at the college's dance concerts, musicals, and plays.
This year I will be teaching MSJC Dual Enrollment Political Science 101, a college-level course focused on American and California politics and government. I am also teaching English 12 (senior English).
Educating students about the law is a passion of mine. I am the Mock Trial coach at Heritage. Mock Trial is an academic competition in which students work on a mock case and serve as attorneys, witnesses, court clerk or bailiff. Students compete in real courtrooms in front of judges and scoring attorneys. Students gain valuable experience in public speaking, critical analysis, and thinking on their feet. In past years, I have also taught MSJC Dual Enrollment Legal Foundations as well as Immigration Law.
I utilize Canvas as the primary learning platform for all of my classes. However, I will also use Google Classroom. Please contact me if you have questions.
